Comments OFF…

So it is with some sadness and regret that I have today turned off the comments on my blog…

This is due to a number of reasons, first due to the increasing number of personal, malicious ad hominem attacks I have had recently, I guess as some of my latest blogs that question and critique the dubious practices and theories in and around physio threaten some individuals and companies pride, ego and profit margins and to be honest I've had enough arguing the toss with these unscrupulous profiteers.

I did try to moderate and ignore these comments for a while in an effort for the rare, honest and genuine comment to still come through, but having to read the other acidic, pathetic comments was not good for my blood pressure or mood, and any one who knows me will tell you I don't take many things lying down, let alone vindictive, petty bullies throwing verbal or physical threats around, so rather than keep biting my tongue (almost clean off) I have decided that what I don't see, doesn't rile me.

Secondly, I've decided to turn off the comments due to an increasing number of requests for advice and opinions on personal injury or treatments, for which I don't like to give due to the issues and ethics around online individual advice without a face to face assessment, but when I have occasionally offered some generic advice do I get any thanks… nope… so bugger it!

And finally moderating and replying to these comments was taking up way too much of my time, and with me working a full clinical case load, ensuring quality family time, clinical research projects starting, writing and preparing talks, courses as well as blogs in the little spare time I have (I cannot) I will not waste my time any more.

Sorry to those who have been kind enough to interact politely and professionally in the past, but enough is enough, comments are off…
